What is Cambridge International AS & A Level?

Cambridge International AS & A Level qualifications are taken by over 175 000 learners in more than 125 countries every year. They are typically for learners aged 16 to 19 years who need advanced study to prepare for higher education. Cambridge International AS & A Level qualifications have a proven reputation for being an excellent preparation for university, employment and life.

The wide variety of subjects available at Cambridge International AS & A Level – 55 in total – means your child can choose a study route that suits their interests and aspirations. They will develop a deep understanding of the subjects they study, as well as independent learning and constructive thinking skills – abilities that universities value highly. The Cambridge International AS & A Level programme is flexible and gives your child freedom to broaden their learning.
Cambridge International A Level is typically a two-year course, and Cambridge International AS Level is typically one year. Some subjects can be started as a Cambridge International AS Level and extended to a Cambridge International A Level. Studying Cambridge International AS Levels alongside Cambridge International A Levels means learners can build knowledge and understanding across a wider subject range.
